Cambridge Networks Network

Prof Tim Evans from Imperial College London

Title: Spatial Networks

Abstract: Given a set of sites in space, how can we model their possible interactions? This is a problem encountered in many fields including geography, economics, transport, communications, town planning, and archaeology. The network of interactions may then be used to make predictions or to fill in missing data. I highlight the common features and different choices seen in the large number of models in this area. In particular I will discuss the recent Radiation model of Simini, Barabasi and colleagues. Finally I will ask how can we compare different models of spatial networks
