The Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems (NICO) at Northwestern University seeks multiple post-doctoral researchers and Research Assistant Professors interested in problems of far-reaching, broad ranging research on complex systems. Northwestern University is located in a culturally and socially diverse Chicago suburb on the shores of Lake Michigan under the direction of NICO faculty who are leading experts in complex systems in their respective scientific disciplines. NICO is a university-wide research institute dedicated to advancing complex systems and network science research through interdisciplinary collaboration. The position may involve theoretical modeling, computations, experiments, and writing proposals. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in physics, engineering, or information sciences with experience in areas such as statistical physics, time-series and nonlinear dynamics, simulations, or data science. Strong writing skills, demonstrated success in conducting high impact research, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills are mandatory. Two year and longer term multi-year appointments begin immediately.
