 The 2014 KDD Workshop on Learning about Emergencies from Social Information (KDD-LESI 2014) is to be held on August 24, 2014, New York City co-located with ACM SIGKDD 2014

Workshop overview:
This workshop will bring together researchers interested in problems of information processing to meet the growing challenges in emergency situations. Our aim is to foster a research conversation among computer scientists, social scientists, and other interested participants to discuss issues and challenges relating to emergency understanding, including theoretical, methodological, ethical, and political questions regarding the study of large-scale social information data.

Submission Deadline: June 24, 2014 (new submission deadline) 
Notification of Acceptance: July 8, 2014
 Workshop date: August 24, 2014
