last modified Nov 14, 2012 02:12 PM
Position 1:The Institute for Theoretical Physics (IPhT) of the CEA-Saclay (France) invites application for a two-year postdoctoral position in statistical physics, starting as soon as possible. This position is funded by a european ICT grant "PLEXMATH" on multiplex networks. Multiplex networks appear in a variety of problem and are a natural generalization of networks where nodes can be connected by links of different types. The successful candidate will primarily work with Marc Barthelemy and will take a leading role in developing tools for studying and characterizing empirically these networks.

Qualification: PhD in theoretical physics, applied mathematics, or related discipline. Informal inquiries and applications to Marc Barthelemy marc.barthelemy@cea.fr

Position 2: The Institute for Theoretical Physics (IPhT) of the CEA-Saclay (France) invites application for a postdoctoral position starting as soon as possible and ending at the latest october 1st, 2014. This position is funded by a european grant on mobility in urban systems. The successful candidate will primarily work with Marc Barthelemy and will take a leading role in studying (and modeling) statistical patterns of mobility in data coming from various cities. It is thus important to be interested in real data analysis and quantitative approaches of urban systems.

Qualification: PhD in theoretical physics, applied mathematics, or related discipline. Candidates with a geography, urbanism or GIS background are also encouraged to apply. Informal inquiries and applications to Marc Barthelemy marc.barthelemy@cea.fr
