The Department of Computer Science (CPSC), in the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary seeks outstanding candidates for a Tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level.  Applicants must possess a PhD in Computer Science (or equivalent) at the time of appointment. The successful candidate must demonstrate evidence of a track record of publications in high quality journals and conferences. Successful applicants must also show a strong willingness to contribute to the department's innovative teaching and research initiatives.

Applicants are sought in the area of Network Science.

The successful applicant must have demonstrated expertise in complex networks in information processing systems. This includes the study of network properties, formation mechanisms, and analysis and classification of networked systems. As a position in computer science, particular emphasis is placed on computer networks, mobile communication networks, social networks, semantic networks, and other networked systems with highly dynamic properties. To foster interdisciplinary research, we also encourage candidates with expertise in biological networks and other dynamic, distributed information processing systems.

The hiring committee will review applications starting November 15, 2019. The position will remain open until filled.  Hiring decisions will be finalized by Spring 2020, with the successful candidate joining the University of Calgary in July 2020.
