Cambridge Networks Network

We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for the 4th Turing Data Study Group which will be held 11-15 December 2017 at The Alan Turing Institute in London.

This is a week long opportunity for PhD students, early career researchers, and industry-based data scientists. It’s a fantastic opportunity to rapidly develop and test your data science skills with real-world data, to forge new networks in your professional community for future research projects, and to build links with The Alan Turing Institute – the UK’s national institute for data science.

The science challenges being prepared for the 4th Turing Data Study Group range across the health sector, retail and conservation, global communication networks, and defence and security.

We’re particularly looking for skills in time-series and geospatial data, NLP (sentiment, topic and grammar), clinical studies, survey data, and web-scraping. A background in sociology, psychology, political science, or computer science (compilers or static program analysis) would also be helpful. However, this isn’t an exhaustive list, since diversity of disciplines is encouraged and the science challenges are under development.  We therefore warmly invite applications from a range of academic backgrounds and specialisms.

Deadline: Sunday 19 November 2017
