The Alan Turing Institute offers a number of places each year to graduate students to complete a PhD through the Institute and one of our university partners. Our doctoral studentship scheme combines the strengths and expertise of our partners with the Turing’s unique position as the UK’s national institute for data science, to offer an exceptional PhD programme.

Turing doctoral students split their time between their home university and the Institute headquarters at the British Library in London. They will apply and register for their doctorate at one of our university partner institutions, where they will also spend time over the course of their PhD. Students will be supervised by faculty from our partner universities who are also Fellows of the Institute or substantively engaged with us.
